KEY ISSUES

2ND AMENDMENT

Heather strongly supports the Second Amendment and responsible gun ownership. She believes in protecting constitutional rights while promoting safe handling and existing laws that address violent crime and domestic abuse.

TAXES & SPENDING

Heather supports:

  • Keeping property taxes low for primary residences

  • Responsible budgeting and predictable tax policy

  • Fairness in how large landholdings are taxed so families and small businesses aren’t carrying the burden

Fiscal responsibility means stewardship — not waste, and not shifting costs onto working Idahoans.

EDUCATION

Idaho parents have always had choices when it comes to their children’s education. Heather supports:

  • Strong public schools

  • Parental involvement

  • Transparency and accountability in how education dollars are spent

Public funds should be spent responsibly and with clear oversight.

HEALTHCARE

Heather believes rural Idaho depends on access to healthcare and stable local hospitals. She supports policies that:

  • Keep rural hospitals open

  • Support working families

  • Respect voter-approved initiatives

Healthcare policy should be practical, fiscally responsible, and focused on access — especially in rural districts like District 8.

PUBLIC LANDS

Heather supports:

  • Keeping public lands public

  • Responsible land and forest management

  • Protecting access for hunting, fishing, recreation, and rural livelihoods

Idaho’s land should be managed with long-term stewardship — not sold off or mismanaged.

DISTRICT 8 DESERVES INDEPENDENT REPRESENTATION

Heather Lewis is running because District 8 is not being well served.

The current representative has consistently voted in lockstep with outside political scorecards rather than exercising independent judgment. He has supported legislation that benefits his employer, accepted a legislative pay raise while families face rising costs, and voted to undermine voter-approved initiatives.

Public office is not meant to serve employers, donors, or political organizations. It is meant to serve the people — and that responsibility has been neglected.

Heather will bring independence, accountability, and real representation back to District 8.
